As guest and listener we have Jim Scholes. As short introduction of his cv and interest in our sesion:

Dr Jim Scholes is an Honorary Professor at Lancaster University Management School. He co-authored Soft Systems Methodology in Action with Professor Peter Checkland (Wiley 1990). Jim has spoken at business and academic conferences internationally; published articles on leadership, business strategy and systems thinking; and interviewed for journals including The Times, The Nikkei, Wall Street Journal and Helsinki Sanomat. In 1987, following careers in Government and the computer industry, Jim was involved in creating The Competitive Management Initiative, a UK based consultancy practice. CMI equipped and coached client teams to deal directly with the major challenges they faced. In 1995, along with Professor Gary Hamel, Jim became a founder of Strategos, a global strategy consultancy focused on helping companies build and leverage their own capabilities to grow through strategic innovation. An experienced practitioner of strategy and systems thinking Jim currently acts as a personal advisor and sounding board for senior clients. My interest in your session has been provoked through conversations with Dorien. I'm not currently sure what I will be able to contribute apart from engaging in the discussion and asking questions. For me it is a learning opportunity.
